FAMILY THERAPY

Families come to therapy for a variety of reasons, from phase of life concerns to grief/loss to high conflict in the home. Often times seek therapy because they feel stuck in and overwhelmed by patterns of relating that are not serving them.

In the initial phase of our work, I collaborate with families to clearly identify patterns of relating that have become barriers to desired connection.

I support families in having authentic conversations about the “hard stuff” as well as the “good stuff”. Clients often express gratitude throughout therapy for having a dedicated space to connect around the hot topics in a way that is hard to do at home without getting stuck in the unwanted cycle of interaction.

I have deep respect for the unique values and culture of every family. This leads me to take a collaborative approach in which I draw on your own wisdom to help you reach your goals.

I have experience supporting families through:

  • Co-Parenting Issues

  • Divorce/Separation

  • Blended Families

  • Welcoming a New Sibling

  • Sibling Conflict

  • Discipline Issues

  • Re-negotiating Family Roles

  • Overcoming Perpetual Patterns of Interaction from Family of Origin
